Obituary
VERONA - Hilma Selma “Chris” Trollop, daughter of Ernst and Hilda (Zimdars) Christian, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at her home in Verona.
Chris was born in Ixonia, Wis., on July 9, 1933, joining her older brother, Gilmer, in the family. She graduated from Watertown High School and later was employed with the DNR as an accountant specialist for 35 years.
Chris met the love of her life, Wendell Eugene “Wendy” Trollop, during the time he was trying out for the Milwaukee Braves. The two were married on October 21, 1967, and were blessed with two children, Scott and Angie.
In her younger years, Chris enjoyed dancing, playing the clarinet and concertina. She loved going fishing with her dad and baking with her mom. She especially enjoyed making Christmas cookies and the family’s most desired potato pancakes, which was an absolute highlight a few times a year.
Chris was a gifted seamstress, designing wedding, bridesmaid and prom dresses as well as providing a variety of other alterations. Family, neighbors and people from church and work were the lucky recipients of her talents. She was a true artist with a needle and thread. She was athletically inclined from a young age excelling in softball and bowling, making it to the national level.
Chris leaves behind her son, Scott (Becky); daughter, Angela Walthers; grandchildren, Carter Trollop; Brodie Trollop; Joren (Kate) Walthers; Hailey Walthers; Lauren (Jake) Sands and their daughter, Rilynn; Noah Walthers; Nicholas Walthers; Josh Kahl; Janelle (Bill) and their children, Lincoln and Ryla; and Abby (Roger) Timmons and their children, Reese and Paige. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell; parents, Ernst and Hilda (Zimdars) Christian; and her brother, Gilmer.

A heart felt thank you to Senior Helpers, especially Jesse and Autumn, as well as Interim Hospice and the special care provided by Rebecca, Erin, Charlie, Stevie and Amy.
Your always watchful, caring and concerned eye with that touch of spice will be missed more than we can express. Always ready to mend a hole in a sock or sit and watch the birds. Grabbing a dance with dad spontaneously to polka was a treat to watch. You were there with advice and always a hug. Whenever we see a cardinal, we will think of you and feel comforted knowing you are watching over us.
