Dear Uncle Roger, thank you. Thank you for being so kind to me and my eight siblings. Thank you for seeing things in me that I couldn’t see in myself. Thank you for believing in me, encouraging me and yes, kicking me in the hind end when I needed it! Even though I “towered over you” as you once said, I always looked up to you. Regardless of your physical stature everyone who knew you knew that you were a force to be reckoned with! I have never met anyone more disciplined, or better at their craft than you. Thank you for your service to our country in the U.S. Navy, aboard the heavy cruiser USS Boston. You knew how much that meant to me, and I will be forever grateful for the privilege of being your guardian on The Badger Honor Flight, mission 55. It was an incredible honor, and absolutely one of the best days of my life! Everyone who knew you knew that you were stubborn, determined, dependable and absolutely lovable. Calm seas and fair winds sailor. I love you Roger, and I already miss you dearly. Rest in peace
