Obituary

MARSHALL / SUN PRAIRIE - Gregory Theodore Durst, age 70, of Marshall/Sun Prairie, passed away peacefully into God's arms, surrounded by family on Sunday, March 15, 2026.

Greg was born April 17, 1955, in Shreveport, La., where his father was stationed in the Air Force; the only son of Gerald and Sharon (Gregory) Durst. Later they returned to Wisconsin, finally settling in Sun Prairie. Greg was a 1973 graduate of Sun Prairie High School - Go Cardinals!!

Greg worked for his parents' Durst Bus Service for special needs children. He also worked for Goodyear, Sara Lee, and Master Graphics. He retired early due to disabilities in 2005.

Greg is survived by his loving life partner of 20 years, Traci Triggs of Marshall; sons, Robert, Trevor and Correy (Jolene); grandchildren, Andrew, Jadzia, Skylar (Serena) and Peri; best cats, Mr. Arthur Ruffles and Snicker-Doodles; our "extra children," Juli and Anthony, Cyndi and TJ, Alyssa, Anna and Mack, David and Emily, Zach and Christine, Molly, and Ally; his "grandfriends," Thea, Theron, Ledger, Aveia, Jack, Lukas, Franklin, Glen, and Phoebe; niblings, Christopher, Jennifer, Brandon and Cassidy; sisters, Sherri (Jay) and Terri (Richard); and many other relatives and friends.

Greg never believed only blood meant family. He loved so many as family. The LaPointe Racing Team, BMARA Racing and Angell Park Speedway (racers, crews, fans and firemen), Madison Roller Derby and everyone at The Barrel Inn.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Ricky; daughter-in-law, Amanda; his best friend/cousin, Dave LaPointe; and many many pets.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Greg’s services will be postponed until further notice.

So sorry to hear about Greg's passing. Been friends with Greg for almost 50 years. Cruising the square in his Ramcharger listening to Gene Tracy truck stop tapes. Just enjoying life. You will be missed!
