Obituary

MADISON - Sally Hogan, beloved daughter, sister, wife and parent, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at UW Hospital from influenza on her 73rd birthday. The loss of her larger-than-life personality and magical laugh leaves a silence for all who loved and knew her.


Sally leaves her sisters, Polly (Ken) Abe and Buffy Hogan; her brothers, Andy (Fran) Hogan and Pat Hogan; nine nieces and nephews; and 11 great-nieces and nephews, with number 12 due in June. Additionally, she leaves her stepdaughter, Lilly (Chris) Wilson; stepson, Chris (Jackie) Vallee; and four step-grandsons. She was preceded in death by her husband, Greg Vallee; her parents, Rosemary and Clark Hogan; and her brother, Scott Hogan.


Anyone who had the privilege of knowing Sally knows she was full of life, loyal to a fault, generous and that she loved deeply.


A celebration of life will be held at ST. ANDREW'S EPISCOPAL CHURCH, 1833 Regent St., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2026.

Sally battled recent challenges in her life with determination; sadly her life was cut short far too soon. Sally had the ability to light up a room with her vibrant spirit, infectious laughter and genuine care for others. Sally was a great friend to my mom Jane (Acker) Hamner who passed away from cancer in August. Sally was so nice and supportive to me and our family thru that tough time. Wonderful friend to my mom and us. Rest in peace and I hope they are united together in heaven.
