I hadn't seen Uncle Swede in many years. But, the memories of his laugh and sitting on his porch with him at their house down in the valley by New Glarus years ago one afternoon, talking about our families and life, I treasure. I took a friend of mine to meet him one afternoon there. My friend was a total car guy. Had been working on cars, since he was a kid growing up on their family farm. When I told him about Uncle Swede's cars, he really wanted to meet him! I think Uncle Swede enjoyed showing his cars to someone who was such a car guy. Drive safe, Uncle Swede. 💗 Karen Lynn Okeson 💙

So many great memories of going up north and being on the farm. I am thankful for all of them, especially being allowed to collect the eggs w Kathy and Karol in the chicken coop. I can hear "uncle " Swede's soft spoken voice telling stories when he came in from the barn. What a fun wild house that always so much going on. I always thought it was fun to run around the kitchen to the dining room to the family room w the cuckoo clock and then slow down to get back to the kitchen. I can remember the huge closet full of games off Kenny's bedroom. But most I remember Uncle Swede lifting up us inside our sleeping bags in the front living room and shaking us up playing w us kids. He was fun. Hard working, yet fun. My parents always said what a great farmer he was. I hope you enjoy the beautiful green pastures in Heaven. Sharon Meister Jolly

I was fortunate enough to know Swede during our high school years in Hebron. He was always kind and good humoured, a rare quality for a teenage boy! My condolences to his family and friends.
