Obituary

BLACK EARTH - Timothy R. Schultz passed away on March 22, 2026, at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was born January 17, 1959, to James and Joanne (Scheele) Schultz, and was a twin to his brother, Thomas.


He graduated from Wisconsin Heights High School in 1977 and went on to dedicate 39 years of service to the UW Memorial Union before retiring in 2023. Tim also proudly served his community as a volunteer firefighter with the Black Earth Fire Department for 24 years.


Tim found joy in gardening, fishing, feeding the birds, bowling, playing bingo, and helping others. He will be remembered for his kind heart and his willingness to lend a hand whenever it was needed.


He is survived by his mother, Joanne; his twin brother, Tom; brothers, Don (Theresa) and Ron (Sandy); and sister, Deanne (Alan) Shattuck. He is also survived by six nieces and nephews, 13 great-nieces and great-nephews, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.


Tim was preceded in death by his father, James; his sister, Suzanne; and his paternal and maternal grandparents.


A visitation will be held on April 9, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., followed by a service at 11:30 a.m. at Gunderson Camacho Funeral and Cremation Care, 1701 Center St., Black Earth. Burial will take place immediately after the service at Valley Cemetery in Cross Plains, followed by a luncheon at 1:00 p.m. at Arena Diner.

I remember Tim and his brother come to my house in Mazomanie, I would go to there house in black earth, we worked at UW memorial union we need other things together, I’ll miss him lot . Love you TIm

While working on the UW-Madison campus, we lunched regularly at Memorial Union. Tim regularly stopped by with a friendly hi and a moment to chat. We looked forward to those interactions. We're very sorry to hear of his passing. Our condolences to his family and friends.
