Obituary
GREEN BAY / OREGON - Ronald Alvin Lambrecht, of Oregon, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at BeeHive Memory Care Facility, reuniting in heaven with his wife of 63 years, Maureen. He was born on September 3, 1937, in Oshkosh, the son of Veronica (Guyette) and Alvin Lambrecht.
Soon after graduating from St. Mary Springs Academy, Ron entered the U.S. Army, serving as a radio operator in Germany from 1957 to 1960. After completing his tour of duty, Ron attended the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. Fate brought Ron and the love of his life together in a speech class. He married Maureen F. Helmuth on December 30, 1961, at Sacred Heart Church. After completing his B.S. in History and Social Studies, Ron entered graduate school at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he earned a master’s degree in History. Ron started his teaching career in Oshkosh, then Antigo. In 1968, Ron moved his family to Green Bay where he taught History and Social Studies until his retirement in 1996. Much of his teaching career in Green Bay was spent at Edison Middle School.
As an avid sportsman, he spent much of his free time golfing and fishing, hobbies he passed on to his three sons and daughter. Ron and Maureen enjoyed spending the summer months with friends and relatives at Loon Lake in Shawano County and the winter months in Fort Myers, Fla. Ron was a lifelong learner and teacher, sharing his love of fly fishing and fly tying at various schools, The Boys and Girls Club, Brown County Library and The Wildlife Sanctuary. He loved playing trivia and anyone with a chance of winning wanted to be on his team. Ron’s philosophy in life was “moderation in all things” and that is the example he tried to set for his family and students. He loved Maureen’s baking and even practiced moderation when indulging in her home-baked breads, cookies and cakes.
Ron is survived by his sons, Mark (Ellen) Lambrecht, Michael (Simone) Lambrecht and Daniel (Carol) Lambrecht; daughter, Sara (Kenneth) Kempker; 12 grandchildren, Andrea, Alex and Cassandra (Victor), Betsy (Steve), Ciara (Nick), Brenna (Jeff) and Darian (Andrea), Cade and Jesse, Calla, Zoey and Ethan; 11 great-grandchildren, Emma, Aksel, Maddox, Callahan, Darby, Macklan, Finnley, Savannah, Leon, Noah and Ava; one great-great-grandchild, Tate; sister-in-law, Barbara (John) McClone; brother-in-law, Rollie Roedl; and lifelong friends, Joanne and Mike VandeHei, and Penny and Ron Elfe. Fisherman’s Prayer
God, grant that I may live to fish until my dying day,
And when it comes to my last cast, I then most humbly pray,
When in the Lord’s safe landing net I’m peacefully asleep,
That in His mercy I be judged big enough to keep.
