Obituary
VERONA - Frank Paul Blaha, age 70, of Verona, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at UW Hospital and Clinics. He was born on November 14, 1955, in Elgin, Ill., the son of Frank and Annabelle (Bandy) Blaha.
Frank grew up on a Jersey farm in rural Mount Vernon and graduated from Madison Memorial High School. He spent his early years working as the trusted right-hand man on the farm, a role he took great pride in. A true Wisconsin sports enthusiast, he cheered passionately for the Packers, Brewers, and Badgers-and even the Bucks when they were having a good season. He enjoyed spending time bowling in earlier years, but mostly he loved going to ball games whenever he could.
He received care from his parents until 1999, after which his sister, Paulette, assumed responsibility through 2005. Subsequently, his nephew, Corky, together with other family members, continued to provide support for the remainder of his life.
Frank is survived by his sister, Paulette Fox; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Annabelle; siblings, Janice Anne Bande and Jeri Lynn Chesney; niece, Raquel Wernicke; and his grand-nephew, Robert Bande.
A private family inurnment will be held at Mount Vernon Cemetery. Online condolences may be submitted at www.gundersonfh.com. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Treasurehouse.org, Kurt Warner’s charity supporting independent living for young adults.
