Obituary
MADISON - Lonnie Tyson Lamar Wendt, age 51, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at UW Hospital. He was born on June 16, 1974, in Brookfield, the son of Charles Johnson and Wendy Wendt.
Lonnie graduated from Milwaukee Tech High School in 1992. He worked as an IT Technician for MSN for 35 years.
Lonnie poured his heart into every community he was part of, and he never stopped supporting his friends from Milwaukee Tech High School. He will be deeply missed by the many people whose lives he touched in the places he loved-Madison, West High School, Milwaukee Tech, Stoughton, and countless others. Lonnie had a genuine love for people. He thrived on meeting new faces, staying connected with old friends, and building relationships that lasted a lifetime. The children he mentored and coached held a special place in his heart, and he dedicated himself to helping each of them succeed.
To those reading this… know that Lonnie cherished every moment spent coaching and mentoring you. He fought with everything he had to stay here with us. Lonnie is a hero to so many, and he will forever remain our hero.
Lonnie is survived by his son, Elijah (Leah Noel) Linderud; step son, Andrew "Drew" Palmer; significant other, DeeAnn Jensen; mother, Wendy; grandmother, Erika Wendt; uncles, Garry (Jenny) Wendt and Daniel Wendt; cousins, Jacob Wendt, Ricky (Kristy) Jankowski, Colton Wendt and Lindsy Wendt; second cousin, Casper, and his father, John; and loving family in New Jersey; and many other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles; and grandfather, Ernie “Pa.”
A visitation will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1358 Highway 51 N. at Jackson St., Stoughton, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday, February 15, 2026.
