I remember most fondly the visits that Uncle Donnie and Dixie would make to our house. I also loved our family reunions and get-togethers during the Christmas season . As we aged he still made it a point to make sure that my mom who's the youngest of all of them was okay. He and Aunt Dixie both always made us feel very special and they were always so thoughtful, even if it was simply bringing Jax & ball or jump rope to play with. Family definitely mattered to Uncle Donnie, even the extended family. I was always proud of his career as a motorcycle cop. I cannot say enough about the impression he made on me when I was little. Such a kind and gentle man, who always took the time to talk and listen to us. And he always gave such powerful hugs. I love you Uncle Donnie And I you, I'm grateful you are such a good brother to my mom. I'm glad you guys had that last visit together. ❤️🙏 I love you, Bernadette Kagel

My uncle Donnie was always a John Wayne kind of guy. The last time I saw him, Sharon and my uncle Don came to visit me in Florida. I have fond memories of that visit from him telling me stories to watching old western on turner classics. we had a great Thanksgiving celebration. I love it that he told me stories about my father and how I reminded him of my father cooking. I knew then it would be a memory I could hold dear to my heart. You will be missed and loved to always Linda Benske
