Obituary
CAMBRIDGE - Susan Kay Speth, age 79, of Cambridge, Wis., passed away suddenly on Friday, January 2, 2026, at her home.
Born October 6, 1946, in Madison, Wis., she was the daughter of Frances (Gent) Greve and Russell Greve. She graduated from Mount Horeb High School and worked at Madison Area Technical College in a variety of roles for her entire career. She cared deeply for her extended family and was always there with a helping hand.
Sue enjoyed creating and caring for her extensive gardens, finding the perfect gifts for family and friends, and was an avid quilter. In her later years, Sue collected Pickard china and produced the Pickard china newsletter which was distributed nationwide. She loved to feed her little bird friends, including the five-foot-tall Sandhill cranes that returned to her backyard bird feeder year after year. Every summer she waited with bated breath to see how her daylilies would bloom.
She was a devoted mother to Robert Speth and life partner to Fred Brown. She is survived by her life partner, Fred Brown; brother, Steve Greve; son, Robert (Kristen) Speth; and grandchildren, Jacqueline Speth and Russell Speth. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frances and Russell Greve; and sister, Elizabeth Julson.
