Obituary

STOUGHTON - James Marvin “Tiny” Anderson, age 84, of Stoughton, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2025, at St. Mary's Hospital. He was born on August 1, 1941, in Janesville, Wis., the son of Marvin and Eleanor (Moen) Anderson.

Tiny graduated from Stoughton High School. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from UW Platteville. He married Kathy Berg on September 1, 1962.

Tiny worked as a salesperson for various farm implement companies around Wisconsin, retiring in 2000. He was also a member of the Zor Shrine and Lions Club, and he was on the Stoughton Fair Board.

Tiny loved to be in the community with his farming friends. He liked to tinker, and he was a dedicated follower of all Wisconsin sports and a big fan of NASCAR. He enjoyed being out in the North woods, hunting and fishing, and he retired to his happy place in Cable, Wis. Ole and Lena were his 4-legged companions, and they followed him on all of his adventures.

Tiny and Kathy were very active in their community and were even crowned king and queen of the Syttende Mai Festival in 1973. He loved her deeply and has now been reunited with the love of his life.

James is survived by his daughters, Kari (Stephen) Hauger and Kristi Anderson; son, Kirk (Sheree) Anderson; brother, Ronald (Kathie) Anderson; granddaughters, Karissa (Cole) Hauger and Hannah Anderson; grandsons, Christopher (Krystal) Hauger and Cameron (Meghan Haas) Hauger; great-grandchildren, Braxton Normington and Freyja Hauger; aunt, Gerry Anderson; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy; and parents, Eleanor and Marvin.

A visitation will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1358 Highway 51 N. @ Jackson St., Stoughton, from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2026. In honor of Tiny, please wear your casual attire.

A celebration of Tiny's life will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to Golden Retriever Rescue of Wisconsin (GRRoW) or Namakagon Lake Association.

May you always walk in sunshine and God's around you flow, for the happiness you gave us, no one will ever know. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone, a part of us went with you, the day God called you home. A million times we needed you, a million times we've cried. If love could only have saved you, you never would have died. The Lord be with you and may you rest in peace.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to St. Mary's for their love and support.

I'm very sorry for your family's loss. Although I didn't get to personally meet him, I felt like I somewhat knew him these last few years. Kristi, he was very blessed to have you here for him when he needed you the most. I hope a day never goes by that you don't recognize what a wonderfully dedicated daughter you were to him. May the love and laughter in your memories give you strength through these hard times. You're all in my thoughts and prayers. ❤️
