Obituary
LONE ROCK - Dionisio A. Puzon, age 86, of Lone Rock, WI, passed away peacefully - Christmas morning, Thursday, December 25, 2025, with the sun shining upon his face, at Upland Hills Health Hospital in Dodgeville, WI. He was born on April 8, 1939, in the Philippines, the son of Herminigildo and Julieta (Alcantara) Puzon.
Dionisio graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, where he earned his Master of Science Degree in 1972. He married the love of his life, Corazon Lagasca Puzon, in a civil ceremony in Richland Center, WI, in June 1970, followed by a church wedding in August of the same year.
Dionisio devoted more than 40 years of teaching. He taught English as a Second Language, and all general subjects to Bilingual students. His teaching career included nine years at Saint Louis University (SLU) in the Philippines, 20 years in Waukesha, WI, two years in Minnesota public schools, and 10 years at Richland Center High School. He touched countless lives through his work.
In 1975, Dionisio and Corazon began building their family home together-a place that became the heart of many cherished family gatherings over the years. They greeted family and friends with heartfelt hospitality, serving traditional Filipino cuisine highlighted by their famous and much-loved lumpia egg rolls.
As an accomplished singer, He was a devoted member at Sacred Heart Catholic Church for about 20 years. One of his greatest honors as an ordained minister was presiding over the marriage of his eldest son, Dion Jr, and his daughter-in-law, Holly.
Dionisio demonstrated a dedication to service and community through his leadership as a member and President of the Philippine Association of Madison and Neighboring Area (PAMANA). He spent seven years as a seminarian, four years with the U.S. Marshals as an interpreter, and was also involved as a Free Mason. He also served as President of Organic Producer Farms, a family organization that continues its mission today.
Above all, he treasured time spent with his loving wife, Corazon. Together they shared a love of teaching, farming, gardening, caring for their animals, ballroom dancing, traveling the U.S. and spending time with many friends-simple joys that defined a life lived with devotion, purpose, and love.
Dionisio was preceded in death by his parents and older brother. He is survived by his wife, Corazon; two sons, Dion (Holly) Puzon Jr. and Dean (Nicole) Puzon; seven grandchildren, Xavier (JR), Willem, Alexandra (Malec), Olivia, Quinn, Simon and Mia; and many sisters, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Edward Potaracke and Caleb Potaracke for the additional care of Dionisio and Erlie and Mike Hawkins for their many care packages and goodies. He always looked forward to getting them. We also want to thank Terry Watters for many years of friendship to the Puzons and also the consistent support of the local Filipino families.
In keeping with Dionisio’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be held at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH 417 S. Oak St., Lone Rock, WI at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2026, with father Aro presiding. A celebration of life will follow at Discover Driftless, 33831 US Highway 14, Lone Rock, WI 53556.
