Obituary

MADISON - Jean Mary Duddleston, age 76, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at UW Hospital and Clinics. She was born on October 28, 1949, in Beloit, the daughter of Ronald and Dorothy (Boeschel) Lindstrom.


Jean graduated from Beloit Memorial High School in 1967, from nursing school in 1971, then from the College of St. Francis in 1991. She married Wayne Duddleston on May 27, 1972, in Beloit. Prior to retirement, Jean enjoyed a long career as a Registered Nurse at UW Health.


Jean had a deep love for travel and proudly visited all 50 states. She enjoyed cheering on the Packers and Badgers, attending concerts, and spending quiet moments with a good book. In addition to her hobbies, she loved going out for coffee and lunch with her friends.


Jean is survived by her husband of 58 years, Wayne; daughter, Anne (Valintip) Souvannasone; son, Matthew Duddleston; and grandchildren, Trevor Starr, Hunter Starr, Nathan Starr and Hope McDougal. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald and Dorothy.


A visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.


The family would like to thank the UW Hospital doctors and nurses, especially Abigail from the TLC unit.

I knew Jean for many years when she worked as a nurse. Shewas a good and dependable nurse. I also remember her from Bashford United Methodist Church. She was a kind and gentle woman. Deepest sympathy to Wayne and the family.
