STOUGHTON - Douglas Quentin Bingham, age 82, of Stoughton, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2025. He was born on November 7, 1943, in Minneapolis, Minn., the son of Donald and Mabel (Walther) Bingham.
Doug graduated from Madison East High School in 1962. He married the love of his life, Beverly Libansky, on October 6, 1984.
A proud business owner, Doug was defined even more by his deep connection to Mercer. Time “Up North” shaped his family’s story, and the outdoors was his favorite place to be. He loved hunting, fishing, boating, shooting, and snowmobiling, and he had an uncanny ability to identify nearly every tree and bird he encountered. After a memorable, newsworthy shark fishing trip in his 30s, he developed a lifelong fascination with sharks and treated Shark Week as an annual holiday. Doug was also a devoted football fan who rarely missed a college or professional game.
Travel was woven throughout Doug’s life. He explored the world with his family while raising his children and continued seeking out new adventures in later years. He and Bev especially cherished their winters in Arizona. Known for his playful spirit, Doug even inspired his own signature drink, which was enjoyed by friends and family alike-“The Doug,” a whiskey old fashioned with plenty of bitters, the more the better. His bold, daring personality brought color and excitement to every chapter of his life.
Doug is survived by his wife, Beverly; children, Tami (Mike) Schultz and Randy Bingham; daughter-in-law, Rose Bingham; grandchildren, Jacob (Jeni) Fortune, Michelle (Marty) Alstad, Michael Murphy, Amber (Chris) Mason, Megan (Sam) Schultz, Matthew Fortune, and Lexi (Maria) Schultz; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Lucas, Olivia, and Harper; brother, James (Wilma) Bingham; sister, Virginia Domenget; sister-in-law, Lillian Bingham; and dear friends, Faron Romeis and Don (Meg) Tolmie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Mabel; sons, Jeffrey Bingham and Timothy Christiansen; and brothers, Don, John, and Gary Bingham.
A celebration of Doug’s life will be held at a later date.
