MADISON / STOUGHTON - Margo L. Reese, age 74 of Cottage Grove, died on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at a Madison hospital. She was born to Warren and Dorothy Peterson on April 11, 1951, at Stoughton Hospital. On May 1, 1993, she was united in marriage to Kenneth L. Reese. He preceded her in death in 1999.
Margo attended Stoughton schools, graduating in 1969, followed by an associate’s degree from MATC. She worked for Great Lakes Higher Education Corporation entire adult working career, retiring just shy of 48 years. She was a life-long member of First Lutheran Church in Stoughton. She loved spending time with family and friends. Margo enjoyed travelling and went on numerous Caribbean and other cruises, visiting 48 states and Norway. She also loved playing card games and board games with family and friends and bowled in various women’s leagues for many years. She was an avid Badgers, Packers and Brewers fan, watching most of their games on television.
Margo is survived by her brother, David (Karon) Peterson of Madison; sisters, Susan (Dale) Stiklestad of Stoughton and Nancy (Dennis) Lee of Wisconsin Dells; nieces and nephews, Erik, Nicole, Kevin, Brian, Scott, Sarah and Mark; many great-nieces and nephews; cousin, Lynn Robertson of Stoughton; her best pal and longtime friend, Julie Clark of Madison; and numerous other friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ken; her parents; and several aunts and uncles.
A celebration of life will be held at the STOUGHTON VFW POST 328, 200 Veterans Road, Stoughton, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday, December 7, 2025. A private family burial will be held at Eastside Cemetery.
