Obituary
MIDDLETON - LeRoy G. Acker, age 87, of Middleton, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025, at UW Hospital and Clinics. He was born on September 29, 1938, in Madison, the son of Anton and Rosaline (Brabender) Acker.
LeRoy graduated from Middleton High School in 1956 and proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was united in marriage to Marcie Schwartz on June 30, 1959, at St. Norbert’s Catholic Church in Roxbury. He worked at Dean Foods and Rural Insurance for many years.
LeRoy was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Raised in Ashton, he was a loyal supporter of Wisconsin sports and an enthusiastic fan of all sports. He found joy in the outdoors-camping, tending to his garden, working in the yard, and caring for his home. Above all, LeRoy cherished his family. He adored his grandchildren and never missed a chance to gather with loved ones. He was a devoted Catholic, remaining a lifelong member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Middleton and was proud of his involvement with the Knights of Columbus.
LeRoy is survived by his son, Derek (Denise) Acker; daughter, Shannon (Brian) Murray; grandchildren, Kelsey, Keegan, Karis and Kya (Claudio) Chairez, and Evan and Roz Murray; sisters, Doris Maier and Sue (Steve) Statz; brothers, Russell Acker and Tony Acker; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Acker. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcie; parents, Anton and Rosaline; son, Bryce Acker; brothers, Vincent (Theresa) Acker and LaVerne "Hunch" Acker; sisters, Mary Ann (Jerome) Adler, Doreen Acker and Darlene Acker; sister-in-law, Kristi Acker; and brother-in-law, Ray Maier.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 7450 University Ave., Middleton, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2025, with Father Michael Wanta presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Saturday. A Burial for LeRoy and Marcie will take place at St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery.
