Obituary

MADISON - Paulette Jean Klein (née Capacio), age 77, of Madison, passed away on November 13, 2025, in Madison, Wis. She was born on February 1, 1948, to George Joseph Capacio and Fae Ellura Capacio (née Wells). She graduated from Madison Central University High School in 1966.

Paulette married Richard Frederick Klein in October of 1967 and they had two sons, William Frederick Klein and Michael Edward Klein. Although the marriage later ended, Paulette went on to raise her sons on her own with strength and determination. She had an extraordinary work ethic and often worked two jobs to provide for her family, ensuring her boys had every opportunity she could give them.

Paulette had a deep love for plants and found peace in gardening. She also enjoyed collecting coins and small treasures throughout her life. Those who knew her will remember her as a generous, loving, and thoughtful person who delighted in giving gifts and caring for others.

She is survived by her brother, Dennis (Paula) Capacio; sons, William (Rebecca) Klein and Michael (Melissa d. 2014) Klein; and seven grandchildren: William Klein Jr., Wyatt Klein, Weston (Mia) Klein, Whitney (Jonah) Klein, Willow Klein, Daniel R. Klein and Devin Klein. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Fae Capacio; brother, John Capacio; son, Daniel Klein; and daughter-in-law, Melissa Klein (née Berry).

Paulette’s strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.

My heart is with William and Michael. I use to babysit for the boys. I lived 2 doors down from her on Portland Pkwy. I learned so much about gardening. Vegetables I didn’t even know about. She taught me about aquariums and all the different kinds of fish. She gave me my first aquarium. We shared a lot of laughs and such good memories with the boys. She was a really good person and a hard worker. She’s probably telling GOD how to organize his garden. Love to her family. Susan Borland
