He was my Problems of Democracy teacher in 1962. I’m ashamed to admit that I wasn’t very nice to him, we often were disrespectful. Years later when I was working at the University I would often run into to him in the Botany Garden. The first time, I apologized and we became friends. He really was a fascinating man.

Condolences to the family of this amazing man. He contributed so much to many causes over the years. I think of Mary and Bob whenever I drive past their house with the solar panels. I worked with Mary in Girl Scouts, writing the history of the Glendale neighborhood, and so enjoyed Bob at the summer concerts at Dean House. Blessings to all of you.
