Obituary

MOUNT HOREB - Norma Moyer, age 99, of Mount Horeb, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Attic Angel Health Center in Middleton. She was born on June 27, 1926, in Manchester, England, the daughter of William and Daisy Boulton.

Norma grew up in England, where she met Kenneth James Moyer, a U.S. soldier stationed there during World War II. They were married on October 21, 1944, in Leeds, England, and welcomed their first child, Geraldine Ann, while still living overseas. In 1946, Norma sailed to the United States aboard the Queen Mary. The couple began their life in Wisconsin on a farm in Blue Mounds, where they welcomed their second daughter, Rosann Lynette in 1946. Tragically, on March 3, 1949, Geraldine passed away from a brain tumor. Their son, Dale Edward, was a joyful addition to the family in 1952. The Moyers enjoyed many years together on their farm before Kenneth retired and they relocated to Mount Horeb in 1980. The community in Wisconsin was their home and extended family for more than 50 years.

Norma enjoyed shopping, baking, puzzles, knitting, and crafting. She loved collecting many things, especially teddy bears and English china. Baking was one of her greatest pleasures, and she often made traditional English desserts. Above all, she loved her family. For many years, she donated knitted hats for newborn babies to hospitals throughout the Madison area. She passed along her sweet tooth, her love of tea, and many English traditions to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Norma is survived by her daughter, Rosann (Rick) Field; and her daughter-in-law, Diane Moyer (the late Dale Moyer). She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Scott (Wendy) Zahler, Brett (Sheri) Zahler, Tanya (Bob) Thompson, Amanda (Justin) Haglund, Ryan (Minda) Field, Crystal (Naveen) Viswanatha, Jessica (Brandon) Garcia, and Andrew (Ashley) Moyer. Her legacy further includes 13 great-grandchildren: Kelsi (Kory) Zahler, Kyle (Megan) Zahler, Paige (Jason) Zahler, Wyatt (Ali) Thompson, Seth (Megan) Thompson, Arlo Haglund, Asher Haglund, Broxton Field, Keira Viswanatha, Akemi Viswanatha, Aiden Garcia, and Colten Garcia; as well as five great-great-grandchildren: Breylon, Kayson, Poppy, Hunter, and Callahan.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings; her husband, Kenneth J. Moyer; her daughter, Geraldine Moyer; her son, Dale Moyer; a great-grandchild, Cole; and a great-great-grandchild, Delilah.
