Obituary

SUN PRAIRIE - Rebecca Ann “Becky” Abing, age 67, of Sun Prairie, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025. She was born on August 19, 1958, in Coon Rapids, Minn., the daughter of Timothy Mitchell and Nonie Edeskuty Parks.

Becky graduated from Coon Rapids High School. She married Douglas Abing in 1991, and they were married for 34 years. She served in the U.S. Marines. She then went on to work for the Alliant Energy Center in the accounting department for 28 years, retiring in January 2024.

Becky was an avid reader, and she enjoyed a good puzzle or game of trivia. She was an amazing cook and was well known for her famous pretzel salad. She touched countless hearts and was the life of the party!

Becky was incredibly social and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved hosting family gatherings and would have everyone playing games. She loved going up north to a cabin, spending her mornings there sitting on the dock enjoying a good cup of coffee.

Becky is survived by her husband of 34 years, Douglas; daughters, Nicole (Eric) Daufeldt, Renee Annen and Rachel (Kelly) Abing; grandchildren, Sammi, Kenzie, Andee, Riley and Peyton; brothers, Joe (Roberta), Kevin (Mary) and Jeff (Charley) Mitchell; sister, Kelly (John) Garvey; brothers-in-law, Stan (Judy) and John Abing; sister-in-law, Beth (Jim) McLimans; dog, Micky; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Timothy Mitchell and Nonie Parks; sister-in-law, Susan Abing; and parents-in-law, Herman and Ruth Abing.

Becky and I worked closely together at the Alliant Energy Center for 11 years, she was a dear friend that I loved like a sister. I will miss our lunch dates, getting caught up on family affairs, and her smile. Doug, Nicole, Renee and Rachel please know she was one of the BEST! Love Margie Menard

I really have no particular moment or moments to share because every single moment I was with her ( and there were a lot) was so special!! We did so many things with Becky and Doug. I felt so special the day she asked to be your maid of honor !!! Loved that lady so much. We did trips with our families, gambling, drinking, playing cards, gardening ( although she didn’t like to as much as me😘. She truly changed our lives forever🙏🏻Until we meet again Beck, I miss you now and until that time!!❤️❤️❤️I love you! Mike and Candy DiMaggio
