Brad Grundahl

MOUNT HOREB - Bradford Bennie “Brad” Grundahl, age 83, of Hollandale, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at UW Hospital and Clinics in Madison. He was born on August 10, 1942, in Mount Horeb, the son of Bennie and Verna (Martinson) Grundahl.

Brad graduated from Mount Horeb High School in 1960 and went on to attend the Farm and Industry Short Course at the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, where he formed several lifelong friendships. On July 30, 1966, he married Karen Domini at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pine Bluff, Wisconsin. Together, they took over the family farm near Daleyville from Brad’s parents, where they lovingly raised their three sons.

Brad was a devoted father and a source of inspiration to his boys, each of whom followed in his entrepreneurial footsteps. In retirement, he continued to work alongside his youngest son, Jason, who succeeded him in operating the farm. For over 30 years, Brad and Karen spent part of each winter at their Lakeside Casitas home in Fountain Hills, Arizona, where they built lasting friendships with people from around the world, reuniting each winter and often gathering throughout the Midwest during the summer months.

Brad took great pride in being a farmer and generously shared his passion and knowledge through involvement in numerous civic and community organizations. He served for many years as a board director for the Mount Horeb Farmers Co-op, the State Bank of Mount Horeb, and Farm Credit Services. He also volunteered and served on committees for various other organizations. In Arizona, Brad continued his commitment to community, serving as President of the Board of the Lakeside Casitas Association until his passing.

He found joy in working on the farm, going on fishing trips with family and friends, playing euchre, and cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events. Winters in Arizona were filled with card games by the pool, happy hours, desert hikes, and rides on his beloved John Deere bicycle around Lakeside Casitas in Fountain Hills.

Brad is survived by his wife, Karen; his sons, Steve (Suzi) Grundahl, Jeff (Mary) Grundahl, and Jason (Christine) Grundahl; and his grandchildren, Rylan (Ellie Hadac) Wick, Stella (Treyton Waldner) Parker, Alie Grundahl, Max Grundahl, Sam Grundahl, and Olivia Grundahl. Other survivors include her sisters, Alice (Jack) Graham and Karolyn Carlson; sisters-in-law, Marlene Raemisch and Shirley Domini; along with numerous nieces, nephews and many other friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie and Verna Grundahl; his parents-in-law, Steve and Catherine Domini; his brother, Tom Grundahl; his brothers-in-law, Frank Raemisch, Rich Carlson, and Ronald Hellenbrand; and his sisters-in-law, JoAnne Hellenbrand and Ethel Grundahl.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. IGNATIUS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 109 S. Sixth St., Mount Horeb, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, with Father Singareddy Prabhakar and Father Grant Thies concelebrating. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON CAMACHO MOUNT HOREB FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 500 N. Eighth St., Mount Horeb, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, and also at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Wednesday.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Natalie Callander and her team at the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center for their compassionate care and unwavering support throughout Brad’s journey with Multiple Myeloma.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in Brad’s honor to any of the following: Carbone Cancer Center, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, or the Hauge Log Church Preservation Foundation.
