Obituary

Jane was born in Waseca, Minnesota. When she was a toddler her family moved to Lake Mills, Wisconsin. After graduation Jane moved to Chicago, Illinois. Jane moved to many cities throughout her life, but her heart remained in Chicago.

Jane met the love of her life, Ron Roscoe Spinks, in Chicago and it was there that they built their life. Jane was a force in the restaurant equipment industry, and Ron supported her endeavors. She loved to share about her adventures in working with restaurant owners throughout the city and was always proud of her ability to drive through Chicago traffic with her manual transmission (three on the tree) Chevy truck. We suspect that a drive across town with Aunt Jane is how her nieces and nephews acquired their colorful language skills.

Jane was a true giver, if she had a dollar, she’d give you 99 cents and never ask for it back. She was also a cinephile and an entertainer, quick to make a stranger into a friend with stories full of charm and wit. During her time in Chicago, she loved traveling with Ron, hosting parties, backyard barbecues, and late-night movie marathons.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Effie Loomer; husband Ron Spinks; nephew, Michael Hoffman; and special cousin, Andrea Geyer. She is survived by her loving family including sisters, Linda Loomer and Esther Loomer (Terry Young); and sisters-in-law, Dee Spinks Pierre and Vera Spinks Hall (Wallace).

Jane loved her nieces and nephews as her own children and they miss her deeply. They include Derek Hoffman (Patty), Angela Hoffman, Andre Pierre, Collette Garcia (Joe), Jessica Dowd (Paul), Nelle Kempfer (Matthew), Harry Young (Chelsea), Neil Plummer, Edwin Spinks and Tiana Spinks. She is further survived by many great-nieces and nephews including Michael, Raynee, Xander, Phoenix, Nolan, Lena, Thomas, Deidre, Lincoln, Ella, Zac, Garrett, Savanah, David, Bailey, Willow, Carsten, Theodore, Nathaniel, Quinten, Bingley, and extra special nephew, Westley, who had many adventures with his Great-Aunt Jane.

Jane’s family would like to thank the staff at Sienna Crest Assisted Living in Oregon and Moments Hospice for the exceptional care they provided in making sure she was cared for and comfortable in her final days.

Jane requested not to have a public funeral service, but instead her close family and friends will gather in the spring to share memories and spread her ashes at Tyranena Park, where her childhood home once stood.
