Obituary

STOUGHTON / JANESVILLE - Michael Brian Ford, age 66, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday September 9, 2025, at home in Stoughton, Wis. He was born in Janesville, Wis., on October 17, 1958, to Frederick and Helen Ford. Michael attended St. Patrick's grade school and graduated from Craig High school in 1976. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving 14 years, and received an honorable discharge. Michael held several positions as a machinist and was currently employed at LabCorp, Madison.

Michael's happiest moments were spending time with his children and grandchildren. He often commented it was the little things when they were all together that made his life fulfilled. Papa will always be remembered for his family traditions like hiking and camping or bringing gummy worms to each sporting event for his grandkids. Michael loved his Packers, always the green and gold! He was an active Legion member since 2019 and participated in numerous events around the Midwest for our military veterans. Michael's drive for adventure and deepest desire for travel was his motorcycle trips around the Midwest and mostly to the mountain areas within Tennessee and often spoke of some retirement time there eventually. He loved being outdoors. Michael had what was described as a simple soul. Besides living a simple life, Michael was a peacemaker. He didn’t like drama or confrontation. He had such a kind soul and would do anything for his family. Besides his children and grandchildren, he loved his dog, Snickers. He wasn't one to make fun of someone or makes jokes if you weren't liked.

Michael is survived by his two children, Adair Peterson of Brooklyn, Wis., and Michael B. Ford of Friendship, Wis. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kyle, Kiera, Alexia, Kalin, Ethan, Lyric and Journey; siblings, Steven, Patricia, David and Fritz; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, James.

A celebration of life will be held at AMERICAN LEGION POST #59, 803 N. Page St., Stoughton, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2025.
