MADISON - Donna Josephine Fiedler, age 89, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Agrace HospiceCare. She was born on January 10, 1936, in Tomah, Wis., the daughter of Joseph Fiebig and LaVaughn (Alderman) Schultz.
Donna was united in marriage to James Fiedler on June 9, 1956. They were married for 66 years. They were entrepreneurs known for inventing and selling “The Big Bar” ice cream treat on a stick.
Donna was an extremely talented artist. She worked with acrylics, watercolor, stain glass, jewelry and ceramics. Her creations brought joy to her family and those who purchased her work at art fairs and flea markets.
Donna loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Donna is survived by her daughters, Deborah Papenthien and Kathy (Joseph) Halada; son, Mark (Sharon) Fiedler; grandchildren, Marla Burton, Austin Papenthien, Stephen Halada, Danielle (Victor) Thomas, Joe Fiedler, Jesse Fiedler, Melissa Fiedler, Sydney (Jenny) Bundrage and Destiny Fiedler; and great-grandchildren, Makenna, Samara, Nevaeh, Layla, Jayden, Desyre, Alexis, Brooklyn and Silas. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Marian (Lawrence) Sowle and Eileen (Delbert) Gruen; and son, Victor Fiedler.
Donna will be buried next to her beloved husband, Jim at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Tomah.
