Jermitt Jerome Krage

Jermitt was such a dear dear person. I took care of Matthew when he was very young and then I went to work at WEAC with Betty and Jermitt. I was a single parent with two teens and a preteen. Jermitt found out that my deck was pulling away from my house and offered to help me.. He brought over the poles and talked my two boys through bracing back up my deck. Jermitt was teaching my sons how to fix it. Always a gentle soul and teacher. I've been blessed to have Betty, Jermitt and Matthew in my life.

Jermitt was a dear friend of our family and we always enjoyed visits with this special neighbor when he spent time at his property in Wis Rapids.

We became friends later in Jermitt's life, playing boatloads of cribbage, talking politics and community organizing and fishing over a meal, and enjoying his stories, SD cabin, and more. He patiently taught us pinochle but we never got good enough to beat him lol! Jermitt was a committed defender of justice, a friendly, kind, good, generous soul. Jermitt was the best union organizer = perhaps of all time. He did significant organizing for Madison Teachers Inc (MTI) over many years. We never entered into a crisis during bargaining that I did not first call Jermitt for his guidance and assistance in organizing. He always excelled! John Matthews, MTI Executive Director (retired)
