Obituary
DEFOREST - Hilda Grace Quamme, age 92, of DeForest, passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Bay Harbor Deforest. She was born on December 6, 1932, in Dothan, Ala., the daughter of William and Mary (Daniel) Bullington.
Hilda graduated from Coffee County High School in 1951. She worked as an administrative assistant for the federal, county and city government for most her life and also owned a shirt lettering business for many years. Hilda was a devoted mother when it came to raising her family and strong-willed in her beliefs and values that were important to her. In her free time, she enjoyed knitting and sewing.
Hilda is survived by her son, Jeffrey (Jodell) Quamme; two daughters, Teresa (Ray) Buechner and Sheryl Ann Hamann; five grandchildren, Shauna (Justin Kwasigroch) Buechner, Lindsey Buechner, Richie (Chelsea) Hamann, Kendall (Lukas) Hansen and Megan Quamme; and four great-grandchildren, Karsyn Hamann, Lucie Hamann, Ellis Hamann and Madison Hansen. She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Rebecca (Alec) Blizoites, Ruth (Jimmy) Ledbetter, Elizabeth (Vernon) Martin and Nina Jean (Jim) McCawley; two brothers, Bryon "Buster" (Grace) Bullington and Quentin Bullington; and son-in-law, Bob Hamann.
