I remember Bernice as a precocious little spitfire as a child. Jooanne and Skip asked me to babysit for them out on old Oregon Road one night.(my first time ever babysitting) Little Teddy was crying in soiled diapers and l was changing them on the floor while Bernice crouched beside me watching. When I finally got the pins out and pulled the diaper back that boy shot pee straight up in the air, covered both of us. Bernice jumped back with a hoot and ran off out of the room leaving me to clean up. I was bent over Teddy trying not to poke him with the rusty pins as I put a clean diaper on when she came running full tilt into the room and kicked me square in the nose.knocked me right on my back. Looking up at her with a bloody nose and bleary eyes she danced around laughing and ran off back out of the room. That’s my little neice there, sowing memories even then. She still is. … Ernest
