Obituary
MADISON - Chris E. Brown, age 62, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2025. He was born on June 2, 1963, in Madison, the son of Edward and Priscilla "Pug" (Normington) Brown. Chris graduated from La Follette High School in 1981. He married Lisa LeMahieu at Burrows Park and they recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.
Chris was respected as a hard worker and took pride in everything he did. He could fix just about anything and if he got stuck, a quick YouTube video would help him solve it. Chris loved being outdoors - fishing, working in his yard, camping, and e-biking with family and friends. He loved to show off his bikes and was pretty dang proud of his boat, too. Another important hobby Chris mastered later in life was slot car racing with his cousins and friends.
He was known for his wonderful sense of humor, quick wit and laughter at his own jokes, like father (Ed) like son. He was a huge fan of the TV show "Maine Cabin Masters" and would watch episodes on repeat, as long as the Brewers weren't playing. He was a proud Brewers and Packers fan and was known as “the couch coach.” Chris also loved music, was a self-taught guitarist, and knew all the songs from his favorite bands. Of all his beloved hobbies, his family was the most important part of his life. He loved playing games with his family, especially his mom, and spending time with his five cherished grandchildren, who lovingly called him Papa.
Chris will be dearly missed by his wife, Lisa; daughters, Jenna (Jerry) and Jessie; son, Tyler (Alley); mother, Priscilla; brother, Aaron (Pam); sister, Bambi (Ed); grandchildren, Avery, Piper, Amen, Gigi and Tatum; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward; and niece, Jessie Jackson.
A memorial service will be held at MESSIAH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5202 Cottage Grove Road, Madison, at 12 noon on Friday, August 22, 2025, with Pastor Jeff Vanden Heuvel presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.
