Roger Klein

MADISON - Roger Earl Klein, age 93, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at his home. He was born on August 8, 1932, in Stoughton, Wis., the son of Carl and Edith Klein. Roger graduated from Madison East High School in 1951. After school he served with the United States Marine Corp and fought in Korea. On June 25, 1955, he married Patty Adams at Lake Edge Lutheran in Monona, Wis.

Prior to retirement, Roger worked as a sheet metal worker at Badger Diversified Metals. In his free time, he enjoyed playing cribbage and watching Wheel of Fortune. When he was younger, he was involved with stock car racing for more than 20 years. Most of all, Roger enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Roger is survived by his daughter, Terri Klein; sons, Dan Klein (Mary) and Gary (Valerie) Klein; grandchildren, Ashley Klein (Trevor), Stephanie (Ben) Howery and Jesse Klein (Julie); great-grandchild, Evelyn Howery; brothers, Stan (Donna) Klein, Tom (Helen) Klein and Bill (Beverly) Klein; sister, Majorie Curry; along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Eugene Klein; and sister, Lorretta Kottwitz.

A funeral service will be held at Gunderson East Funeral and Cremation Care, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday August 20, 2025. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. Burial will be held at SUNSET MEMORY GARDENS, 7302 Mineral Point Road, Madison, at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2025.

The family would like to thank Teri, Sylvia and the many nurses from Heartland Hospice that helped with his care. A special thank you to Stan, Donna and Tom for their regular visits which meant so much to him.
