I never meet Lucky, but he sounds like he was a wonderful person! He had a great life and a wonderful family! Very nice obituary! Thank you for sharing all of his life with all of us! Ginny

What a man! At Sundstrand, I worked in Dick's organization for a number of years as his business manager. It was an area of the total areospace business that he was not very comfotable with since it involved contract negotiations and, by nature, he did not like confrontations. He was just too nice a guy. He truly loved the technical challenges of aerospace. We spent hours (after the normal days work) talking of British life, literature, cars, airplanes, and food. He was one of the the most humble and ethical men I've ever known. The highest praise I could give him is to say that no matter what the circumstances were, he was an absolute gentleman.

On behalf of the Badger Honor Flight Board and all our volunteers, we extend our deepest condolences to you all, the family of Richard Spencer. We are forever grateful for his service to our great country. What an honor it was for us to take him on his well-deserved trip of a lifetime. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Reading the wonderful life story reminds me of what a great leader Dick was for us at Sundstrand. He never let his high position prevent conversations with those of us on his team levels below him. A true gentleman. I stopped by his home for advice years after leaving Sundstrand. It was a delightful afternoon just chatting about the several ways we had crossed paths. Peter Thomas
