Obituary
CROSS PLAINS - Carolyn Sailing, age 83, of Cross Plains, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025, at home after a courageous battle with cancer. Carolyn was born on February 6, 1942, in Madison, Wis., the daughter of Donald and Ellen (Niendorf) Turk. She was married to her loving husband, Kevin, for 65 wonderful years.
Carolyn and Kevin enjoyed traveling and spending time in the summer at their cottage in Adams County. They also enjoyed spending their winters in Arizona. Crafts, such as painting, making afghans and stitching beautiful cards, were some of her favorite hobbies. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles, word finds and putting puzzles together with her family. Carolyn also loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Kevin Sailing; three sons, Jeff Sailing, Mike (Pam) Sailing and Larry (Amanda Spencer) Sailing; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jim (Elaine) Turk, Roger (Lori) Turk and Arlan Turk; and sister, Judy Eisner. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Ellen Turk; and brother-in-law, Francis “Ike” Eisner.
The family would like to express our sincere thanks to Agrace HospiceCare, especially Jamie and Leslie, for the professional and compassionate care they gave Carolyn and our family.
A memorial gathering will be held at GUNDERSON CAMACHO MOUNT HOREB FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 500 N. Eighth St., Mount Horeb, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Monday, August 4, 2025.
