Obituary

OREGON - Donald A. Barnum, age 68, passed away on July 21, 2025, at UW Hospital in Madison. He was born on January 2, 1957, in Eau Claire, Wis., to parents John and Barbara (Phillips) Barnum.


Donald met and married his wife, Dorothy Rudd, in 1997 and had been together for 28 years. He worked for the State of Wisconsin working as a housing specialist where he helped many people.


Donald enjoyed golfing with Dorothy and friends. They created many memories together. He was an avid football fan and enjoyed watching Packers and Badger games. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.


Donald is survived by his wife, Dorothy; stepdaughters, Janice, Sharon and Tracie; seven step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and siblings, Dennis (Debbie) Barnum of Sun Prairie, Wis., Catherine (John) Dunn of Eau Claire, Wis., Richard (Julie) Barnum of Tempe, Ariz., David (Susan) Barnum of Eau Claire, Wis., and Joanne Carey of Eau Claire, Wis. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.


A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1150 Park St. Oregon, at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2025. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Oregon.
