Obituary

WAUNAKEE - Cheryn L. "Cherie" Litsheim, age 79, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2025, at Waunakee Valley Senior Living.

 

She was born on August 16, 1945, in Freeport, IL, the daughter of William and Doris (Cowan) Rapp.


Cheryn was a 1963 graduate of Lodi High School.

 

She married John Litsheim on May 12, 2000, after a long courtship having met while shooting pool.  Both Cherie and John enjoyed playing in large and small billiard tournaments.

 

Cheryn was employed with Porchlight as an administrative assistant until her retirement.


In addition to billiards, Cherie had a variety of interests including gardening and caring for her yard.

 

Cheryn is survived by her brother and his family, Robert (Yoshi) Rapp; her nieces, Heather (Aaron) and Shannon (Caleb); her nephews, Billy Rapp, Dan Rapp and Bob Rapp; her sister-in-law, Mary (Tom) Klein and their children, Jacob (Carrie) and Heidi (Paul); her best friend, Jan and many other friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Litsheim in 2024; her parents and two brothers and their wives, Roy (Cheryl) Rapp and Paul (Janet) Rapp.


A celebration of life honoring Cherie will be held at Wilson's Bar & Grill, 2144 Atwood Avenue, Madison, from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm on Saturday August 23, 2025. A private family burial will be at Arlington Prairie Lutheran Cemetery (Arlington, WI).
