Linda Sue White

SUN PRAIRIE - Linda Sue White, age 80, of Sun Prairie, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born on July 29, 1944, in Kokomo, Ind., the daughter of Paul and Wanita (Martin) Wilhoite.

Linda graduated from Kokomo High School and later from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with a degree in Social Work and completed her Master’s Degree also in Social Work.  Linda was united in marriage to David White on Oct. 11, 1980 at Covenant Presbyterian Church. She worked as a legal secretary for many years and after graduating from the UW, she worked for Dane County Human Services and Mendota as a social worker.

Linda enjoyed playing Bridge and other card games, gardening, bird watching, cooking and watching crime shows.

Linda is survived by her son, Douglas "Doug" (Ann) McKay; daughter, Julie (Brian Zeien) Jenness; stepdaughter, Kerry (Eddie) Horton; stepsons, Mike (Sara) White, Jeremy White and Corey (Sam) White; and brother, Gilbert (partner, Joyce) Wilhoite. She was preceded in death by her husband , David; and parents, Paul and Wanita.

A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, with the Rev. Jeff Vanden Heuvel presiding. Burial will take place at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday.
