A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at QUEEN OF APOSTLES PARISH, ST. DENNIS CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, with Father Michael Tarigopula presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Wednesday. A private burial will take place at Highland Memory Gardens at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the family.

Arthur’s youngest son, Robby, lovingly cared for him at home in his final years. A devotion that did not go unnoticed by his brothers, who are grateful beyond words and know it’s a gift their dad deeply appreciated and would have wanted to honor.

Art went fishing in Canada a few years back. He was not interested in Walleye fishing…until his first walleye breakfast. After that it was a priority of the first degree! Rest in peace my friend ❤️ Jack Carroll

Thinking of your family at this time-we had the pleasure of seeing him with his boys and grandsons and it was always so fun to watch. We are glad he’s no longer suffering and is at rest. Love and peace to the Mackesey family. —Scott, Tara, Skyla and Taylor Michalak

It's hard to just share one. But what sticks out most for me was when Art and Shri took us out in the van to do donuts in the Country Corners parking lot during a fresh snow fall, as us kids just played video games in the back. But even though it was 25 years ago I still remember Art saying "it's just like doing donuts in your living room

When our boys played football together at Monona Grove, I would frequently see him giving me looks out of the corner of his eye when I was being loud and cheering on the boys always very nice and I knew he got a kick out of it. Rest in peace Art!

I had the privilege of working with Art for over 30 years while I was with the City of Madison Engineering. He was always great to work with and you could trust that he truly wanted to do the best job possible. He will be missed.
