Obituary
Black Earth - Linda C. Wille, age 82, of Black Earth, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at UW Hospital and Clinics. She was born on May 3, 1943, in Madison, Wis., the daughter of Sylvanus and Charleen (Sutcliffe) Ballweg.
Linda graduated from Madison Central High School with the Class of 1961. She met Marland Wille at a dance hall in Madison, and they were married on August 18, 1962. Together they made their home on the homestead in Black Earth, and she worked alongside her husband on the family dairy farm. Linda also enjoyed the years she worked at the Shoe Box in Black Earth.
Linda’s passion was her family and she loved to share her joy with them. Her house was full of her favorite collections of chickens, and she enjoyed showing you her latest addition. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she opened her home for the holiday traditions and always had a special gift for everyone. Linda shared her joy of working in her flower and vegetable gardens with others, passing it on to the next generation and sharing her bounty with her family. She enjoyed going “bumming/shopping” with daughter Sandy, and had a life-long love of old-time country and Polka music, including some time on the dance floor. But most of all, Linda truly cherished watching her family grow and always had an extra twinkle in her eye for her growing number of great grandchildren. Her love of family and friends, work ethic, and strong determination of doing things her way will carry on in all of us. We love you more…and we will miss you more.
Linda is survived by her sons, H. John Wille and Ed Wille; daughter, Sandra "Sandy" (Steve) Brandt; daughter-in-law, Amy Wille; eight grandchildren, Alex (Tayler) Wille, Scott (Amber) Brandt, Sam Brandt, Alison (Andrew) Pytel, Richard H. Wille, Sawyer (Mckenzie Radl) Brandt, Emily (Jon Eno) Wille and Matthew Wille; great-grandchildren, Trey, Reed and Hayden Wille, Miles Brandt, Owen Pytel, Hallie Brandt and another great-grandchild on the way; brothers, Joe (Phyllis) Ballweg, Jim (Norma) Ballweg and Earl Ballweg; sisters, Debbie (Dan) Graffin, Suzie Ballweg and Kathy (Reed) Wells; sisters-in-laws, Ruth Ballweg and Jan Wille; brother-in-law, Duane Ott; and her many cherished nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marland Wille; son, Richard M. Wille; brothers, Dick Ballweg, Jerry Ballweg and Tom Ballweg; sisters, Eva Wells, Terri (Rod) Monson and Joan Murphy; brother-in-law, William Wille; sister-in-law, Geraldine Ott; and parents-in-law, Henry and Alice Wille.
