Dane - Duane "Rollie" Lokken, age 91, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Waunakee Valley Senior Living. He was born on May 16, 1934, in York Township, Wis., the son of the late Ole and Myrtle (Swenson) Lokken.
Duane was a 1952 graduate of New Glarus High School. He then joined and proudly served our country in the U.S. Army. On November 25, 1994, he married Josephine Stelter Odegaard in Dane, Wis. She preceded him in death on February 21, 2025.
Duane was employed in sales with BFI Waste Services until his retirement. He had a variety of interests including NASCAR, carpentry, caring for his yard, and restoring classic cars, but loved most spending time with his family.
Duane is survived by his children, Dewey (Kristin) Odegaard, Kathi (Jim) Wacek, Debra (Mike Locke) Lokken and Carrie (Kent) Cain; his step-children, Bob (Jodi) Odegaard, Lynda Schulz, Wes (Pam) Odegaard and Tom (Sue) Odegaard; five sisters, Sylvia Lokken, Carol (Peter) Riphahn, Linda Palzkill, Marilyn Wood and Donna Moreno; four brothers, Dennis (Mary) Lokken, Paul (Marilyn) Lokken, Glenn (Janice) Lokken and Jerry (Lynn) Lokken; grandchildren, Luke (Denise) and Nathan Wacek, Elyse Cain, Cody (Jess) Odegaard, Asa (Taylor) Odegaard, Jessica (Eric) Showers, Aaron (Nikki)Thorsen, Sarah (Ryan) Hynek, JoLynn Odegaard, Trevor (Lindsey) Odegaard, Karli Nelson, Mark Vloedman, Anna Odegaard and Baker Odegaard, 15 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and many friends.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Joseph Solomon; his son-in-law, Thomas Schulz; and his brothers, Otis, Robert, Kenneth and Donald (Virginia); his sisters, Doris (Arthur) Paulson and Janice Lokken; his first wife, Daisy Crimson Lokken; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Gunderson Lodi Funeral and Cremation Care, 157 S. Main St., Lodi, at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 18, 2025, with the Rev. Katya Ouchakopf presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday. Military rites will be held at the DANE AMERICAN LEGION POST #503, 124 N. Military Road, Dane, at 12 noon on Friday, followed by a luncheon at the Post.
