SAN DIEGO, Calif. / MADISON - Susan A. Holl, age 78, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at her home. She was born on April 24, 1947, in Duluth, Minn., the daughter of John and June (Butts) Bartz.
Susan grew up in a U.S. Navy family, and loved living in the San Diego area. She graduated from Point Loma High School in 1963. On May 4, 2010, she married Roger Holl in Appleton, Wis., and together they had fun adventures and were wonderful companions. Susan worked a variety of jobs to provide for her family over the years and also enjoyed the time she spent as a homemaker. In her free time, she enjoyed playing Bingo, thrifting, going to garage sales and farmers markets, and being anywhere near the ocean. One of her favorite meals that she loved was a plain Culvers Butterburger and a small Rootbeer float. She enjoyed listening to music and always kept up with the current artist. She loved driving around with her grandchildren, windows down, music loud, singing along to Lady Gaga and Muck Sticky while also teaching them the value of music from her generation. Susan embraced change and loved social media. Her giggles will be missed early in the morning while she listened to her TickTok videos, enjoying an early morning snack of Cheetos. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Susan is survived by her children, John (Karen) Westbury, Kelly (Scott Strunz) Westbury and Joelle (Lee) Mueller; grandchildren, James Freidl (fiancée, Bryanna), Jessie Friedl, Aaron Westbury and Avonleigh (Parker Hein) Westbury; great-grandchildren, Jaydenn and Leila, Bentley and Brayden, Aidan, Harper, Atlas and Jaxon; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Roger Holl.
