Lucille and I played duets while in Cambridge High School. Lucille played clarinet and I played flute. What wonderful memories! I was a year ahead of Lucille in school with her brother, Romaine. Over the years there were many memories with the family. My condolences to the family.

Mrs. Bautz was my third grade teacher. They lived in the same neighborhood as my family and she became friends with my mother. I always thought that was pretty cool as a kid. My mom thought dearly of her friend. They played cards with other neighborhood lady friends, had luncheons and enjoyed each others company. The group will be forgoing playing cards this week. It will be a sad day for that group of friends. I last spoke to Mrs. Bautz about a year ago and I am thankful I had those cherished minutes with her to catch up. Rest in peace. Julie Ann Drake

I am sorry for your loss. I remember your mom as a wonderful and fun Girl Scout leader. I still take walks past your childhood home and remember how fun it was to have our scout meetings there.

I had Mrs. Bautz for my second grade teacher in 64/65. I still have many fond memories or that school year, and have shared those memories often over these many years. Some favorites: *She was great at eraser tag! She could nestle that eraser down into her hair and move so quickly through the maze of desks! *Instead of just teaching us about the US postal service, she set up an elaborate 'post office ' in our classroom and tied it into Valentine's Day! We were all given rotating jobs to be sure we would get our 'mail' at the Valentine's Day party! Pure genius. *She often told us stories about her young daughter. Near the end of the school year we had a celebration and Mrs. Bautz cooked us Green Eggs and Ham! She said there would be a special guest... And it was her daughter! We were so excited to meet this little girl we had heard souch about! It was because of wonderful teachers like Mrs. Bautz that I became a teacher. I can't imagine the number of children she inspired over her 35 years of teaching at Elvejhem School. My sympathies to her family.

I wasn’t lucky enough to have her as a teacher, but I too remember going to Girl Scout meetings at her home and all of the fun projects we did. I often think of it as I drive by the house on Academy.
