Obituary
PALO ALTO, Calif. - David Syftestad Vick, age 95, of Palo Alto, California passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026. He was born on January 14, 1931, in Madison, Wis., the son of Ole and Lydia Syftestad. He loved his home in Palo Alto where he resided most of his adult life.
David proudly served his country as an officer in the U.S. Navy. He went on to earn his law degree with honors and master of social work degree at the University of Wisconsin and enjoyed careers in business and social work prior to retirement. David was a life-long learner, avid reader, and loved to swim.
David is survived by his nephew, Steven (Carol) Huso; nieces, Janet Huso Mangold (John V. Puotinen) and Karen Huso Foertsch. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jane Syftestad Huso; and infant sister, Ruth Julia Syftestad.
Private family services will be held.
The family wishes to thank Oliviti Maka and her family for all of the wonderful care and support given to David in his last years. Memorials may be made to Bethel Lutheran Church in Madison.
