Obituary

STOUGHTON - Susan A. “Sue” Egner, age 74, of Stoughton, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family, on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. She was born on October 13, 1951, in Madison, the daughter of Robert "Bob” and Judy (Briggs) Buss Sr.


Sue attended La Follette High School. In her younger years, Sue loved cruising the square in her GTO, camping and spending time outdoors. She was an avid sports fan who enjoyed cheering on the Brewers, Packers, and Badgers, as well as following NASCAR. Sue also took pleasure in her favorite soap operas and game shows. She shared more than 40 years of marriage with her husband, Charles “Chuck” Egner, before his passing on March 13, 2025. Above all else, Sue cherished her family and treasured every opportunity to spend time together.


Sue is survived by her children, Wendy (Adam) Griffin, Michelle (Doug) Keene and Lance Egner; grandchildren, Joshua, Makayla and Heather; step grandchildren, Alexis, Carson and Keegan; and siblings, Robert (Sara) Buss Jr., Debbie (Wade) Wilcox and Julie (Thomas Sr.) Munz. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; and parents, Robert and Judy.


A celebration of life will be held the VFW POST 328, 200 Veterans Road, Stoughton, from 12 noon until 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 17, 2026.
