Obituary

MCFARLAND - Lilia V. Wilson, age 79, of McFarland, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2025. She was born on February 15, 1946, in the Philippines, the daughter of Felipe and Rosalia (Alon) Vicente. She came to the United States in her late twenties.  


Lilia worked as a machinist for Madison Kipp Corp retiring, in 2013, to care for her grandsons.


If you knew her, she had a love for so many and enjoyed entertaining and being entertained. She was unapologetically honest in a kind way and had a vibrant personality that you would fall in love with. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, no plant was ever a lost cause to her, it just needed a little of this and a little of that. She loved to display her plants and flowers and cooking what she grew for her family, friends and pets.  She always had food for everyone at her table! She had a huge heart for animals and would take them in and care for them for life. She loved traveling both short and long distances, especially to visit family, attend live fighting events, the casino and to play bingo.


Lilia is survived by her daughter, Michelle Hemp; grandsons, Diedrich Hemp and Isaac Hemp; granddaughter, Carissa Hemp; sister, Lourdes Tincknell;  nephew and his family, Lynn (Barb) Tincknell and Alex Sheridan; nephew, Joe (Pam) Tincknell; nephew and his sons, Ken Tincknell Cody and Kyle Tincknell; nephew and family, Brian (Arlyn) Tincknell and Zoe Tincknell; cousin and daughters, Remay Woolard, Leslie and Jennifer Woolard; and many extended family in the Philippines. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, John Vicente; nephew, Lonnie Tincknell; and brothers, Primitivo and Memerto Vicente.  


A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2025. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.

Dear sweet Michelle, I am sending my sympathy and love to you. I was so very sad to hear of your dear Mom's passing. I have fond memories of her at your track team meets. We would chat (I'd mostly listen :) about families and her smart and wonderful daughter. Lily was always so kind, endearing, and strong. She had a great laugh and the best smiling eyes. You had to love her upon meeting her. She passed on those qualities to you. I know your life without her will be different now. May your faith and strength guide you to peace and serenity.
