Obituary
MONONA - Tim Alan Wubbenhorst, age 62, passed away at Meriter Hospital in Madison, Wis., on Thursday, June 19, 2025. He was born in Lancaster, Wis., to John and Elaine (Gates) Wubbenhorst on October 21, 1962.
Tim graduated from Wisconsin Heights High School and then met and married Kat Stonestreet on September 26, 1987. He enjoyed motorcycle rides in the country and camping. Tim belonged to the camping association where he would average 4000 miles a season. He was a Jeff Gordon fan and travelled to countless NASCAR races. Tim was very proud of his 36 years of sobriety and being a union carpenter of 30 plus years. He would take people under his wing to teach them the ropes and jump in to help.
Tim is survived by his wife, Kathy Wubbenhorst; children, Michael (Mike) Katzke and Jeremy (Wendy Walker) Stonestreet; grandchildren, Ethan and Elaine Katzke; loving sister, Jill Wubbenhorst; in-laws, Bill (Susan), Peg (Will Young), Jim (Rakhee), Bob (Monty Scott) and Joe (Lori) Stonestreet; and his step-mother, LouAnn (Murphy) Wubbenhorst and her children, Dan Rikli and Robin (Rickli) Hauser. He is survived by a large extended family and friends he considered family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Aaron Schneider; mother and father-in-law, Rufus T (Stoney) and P. Elaine (Mitchell) Stonestreet; and step-brother, Tony Rikli.
Tim’s celebration of life will be held at WILLIAM G. LUNNEY LAKE FARM COUNTY PARK, 4330 Libby Road, Shelter #1, Madison, from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday, August 24, 2025.
To my dearest husband Tim. Thank you for being an incredible husband, a fantastic dad, an amazing Grandpa, loving son and brother. Plus, taking the grand dogs for walks and giving belly rubs - it’s the little things that make life so inspiring: family first, work second, and a tie between camping and NASCAR for third and fourth. I’m grateful for the time we shared together, from our twenties until now, growing and maturing as a team. We’re blessed to have spent 41 incredible years together. I’m thankful you’re no longer confined by your Lewy Body prison, as you called it. We cherished every moment, never waiting for retirement, because tomorrows never promised. We live for today, and that’s a lesson for us all. I’m grateful for the life we built together, and we’ll always be each other’s rock. I know you’re beside me, guiding me through the grieving process. Your strength and resilience inspire me. I’m thankful your disease was short lived. May God bless and keep you safe. Until we meet again, your loving wife.
Monetary gifts will be divided and donated in Tim’s name to the Lewy Body Dementia Association and Operation Fresh Start. Online condolences may be made at ww.gundersonfh.com.
