Obituary
MIDDLETON - Marilyn Ann Schuetz, age 91, of Mount Horeb, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Ingleside Manor. She was born on May 21, 1934, in Madison, the daughter of Emil and Monica (Schoepp) Gehin. And she lived most of her life in Middleton, Wis.
Marilyn graduated from Middleton High School in 1952. She and Paul Schuetz eloped on August 30, 1952, to Dubuque, Iowa. She worked as a lab technician at Covance for over 30 years, and also worked at K-Mart and Fish Building before retiring.
Paul and Marilyn loved to spend time at the cabin in Castle Rock and go to Ho-Chunk. She enjoyed arts and crafts, and she was especially good at drawing and painting ceramics. Marilyn enthusiastically loved dogs of any kind. She was a devoted member of her church all of her life.
In her later years, Marilyn lit up the nursing home with her music, singing songs like, “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” and her favorite, “Your Cheatin’ Heart.” She was very involved in all activities, but especially, Bingo - nothing could interfere with her bingo time.
Marilyn is survived by her son, Craig (Kim) Schuetz; daughters, Julia (Steve) Peckham and Nancie Christy; 10 grandchildren, Nicole (Karl) Winter, Rachel Schuetz, Danielle Schuetz, Clinton Schuetz, Lucas (Gwyn) Blindauer, Casey (Avery) Christy, Kyle (Christina) Christy, Katelyn (Matt) Graham, Heather (Justin) Hessel and Heidi (Dan) Allen; bonus granddaughters, Melissa and Jess (five bonus great-grandchildren); 16 great-grandchildren, Elise Winter, Anika Winter, Gretchen Winter, Holly Schuetz, Nick Dillon, Oliver Repasky, Sylvia Repasky, Will Segersten, Ava Segersten, Chloe Segersten, Eric Segersten, Gabby Allen, Livvy Allen, Jaxson Allen, Kaeden Blindauer and Izel Graham; sisters, Betty Peterson and Barb Gehin; sister-in-law, Nancy Gehin and many nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Peggy Salmon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Schuetz; parents, Monica and Emil Gehin; brothers, Ron Gehin and Norman Gehin; and son-in-law, Bobby Christy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 7450 University Ave., Middleton, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2025. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Thursday.
