MOUNT HOREB / BLACK EARTH - Debra K. Haglund, age 62, of Black Earth, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025. She was born on June 7, 1963, in Madison, Wis., the daughter of Lawrence (Larry) and Dorothy (Walstad) O'Connell.
Debra graduated from Mount Horeb High School in 1981. She married Terry Haglund on July 24, 1982, in Pine Bluff.
Even the most challenging times, Deb showed unwavering strength and positivity. She had a deep appreciation for the UW Carbone Cancer center and all that they did for her.
Deb is known for her love and care for others and her moto "LOVE YOU MORE.” She was an inspiration to many. Deb's grandchildren were her priority and greatest joy in life! She spent many years traveling to the family cabin and made many memories there with the family she loved so dearly.
She was proud of her Irish heritage, and she traveled to Ireland in 2019, with her cousins and their spouses. Deb was a Disney enthusiast, and she will always be known for her love of Christmas.
Debra is survived by her husband, Terry; son, Chris (Erika) Haglund, daughters, Brittany (Bryan Hahn) Gastorf and Jessica (Bryan) Hansen; grandchildren, Hailey Haglund, Maci Gastorf, Elin Haglund, Isla Hansen, Nora Gastorf and Sawyer Hansen; brothers, Mike O'Connell, Scott O'Connell, Pat (Kelli) O'Connell and Shannon (Lisa) O'Connell; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence “Larry” and Dorothy (Walstad) O'Connell; and in-laws, Marlen and Norma Haglund.
A celebration of life will be held at GUNDERSON CAMACHO MOUNT HOREB FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 500 N. Eighth St., Mount Horeb, at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 20, 2025. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12 noon until the time of the service on Friday.
