Obituary

 


DEFOREST - Rosemary Lee King of DeForest, WI, departed this world on June 14, 2025. She was born May 13, 1947, in Minneapolis, MN. After graduating from Central HS in Memphis, TN, she completed her Associate Degree in Helena, AR, to pursue a career in nursing. She worked at several hospitals before settling at Nelles AFB, Las Vegas, for most of her career where she helped to set up the hospital’s psychiatric unit and completed 26 years of service for the VA. During her time with the VA, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Nevada.


She held deep appreciation for God’s created world and the creativity with which He endowed mankind. This was evident in her enjoyment of flowers, birds, mountains, deserts, ceramics, jewelry, blown glass, and art. She found great delight in her husband Jim, her cats, and desserts.


Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband, James King, Jr. and her parents, Robert and Adeline Dennison. She is survived by her siblings, Becky Barajas, John Dennison (Judy), and Robert Dennison, Jr. (Merry).


Visitation  will be held Thursday, June 19, 2025, 10:00 a.m. at the GUNDERSON LODI FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE in Lodi, WI, with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m. A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, 2:00 p.m. at WEST ST. OLAF LUTHERAN CHURCH CEMETERY in Hayfield, MN.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gideons International.
