Obituary

COTTAGE GROVE, Wis. - Randall Neil Molepske, lovingly known as Randy, passed away of natural causes on June 12, 2025. He was born on January 3, 1974, in Madison, Wis., to Donald and Patricia Molepske (Oregon, Wis.).

Randy was a gentle and caring son, protective and loving big brother, devoted husband, proud and gentle father, supportive and nurturing fun uncle, thoughtful son-in-law, endearing brother-in-law, true friend and touched the hearts of everyone who knew him.

Randy is survived by his loving wife, Shannon; cherished children, Adrianna and Daniel; parents, Donald and Patricia Molepske; sister, Maria (Joe Jr.) Marking; niece, Molly (Jake) Hochschild; nephew, Andrew Marking; parents-in-law, Paul and Pat Gilpatrick; sister-in-law, Kelly Gilpatrick (Chris Thickins); and by many aunts, uncles, cousins and lifelong friends.

As a young boy, Randy loved being with his family and friends. He played youth soccer, was a Cub Scout and participated in many activities. Randy played soccer throughout high school and continued with Boy Scouts, where he accomplished and achieved his Eagle Scout rank. He lived an Eagle’s Scout’s life by being prepared and doing a good turn daily. Randy always helped others without expecting anything in return. He was a member of the Oregon Wisconsin Marching Band and carried a love for music throughout his life.

Randy graduated from Oregon High School in 1992. He went on to further his education at UW-Eau Claire, where he met the love of his life, Shannon. Randy received his degree from Edgewood College and was fulfilled by using his excellent computer skills during his career with Wisconsin Bankers Association for 26 years. Randy was a member of Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church in Cottage Grove, Wis.

Randy loved comedy, spending time with family and friends, making them laugh by singing a little song or telling jokes. He was adored by his niece and nephew and took pride in being the fun uncle. Randy was always kind, ready to listen and support his family and friends in any way that he could.

Randy’s heart belonged to his wife, Shannon, and their children, Adrianna and Daniel. Randy was so proud to be a father to Adrianna and Daniel; they truly were everything to him. Randy loved family game night, vacations and special moments together. He loved seeing them grow and become their own people. Randy treasured their conversations and held dear the excitement for their future accomplishments. He was always active in driving to, watching or volunteering for Anna and Daniel’s activities. His favorite moments were the ones spent with them. Randy was the most loving husband and devoted father ever. Randy’s love for Shannon, Anna and Daniel will always carry on. His family was his life.

Though Randy left us too soon, we’ll always remember the way he cared for everyone-his laughter and smile, his endless support and thoughtfulness, his love and his gentle spirit. Randy will be forever loved and missed every single day. He was truly one-of-a-kind, the very best.

Randy, my wonderful cousin. I can say my best golfing experience ever. If the sign that has fallen on the ground doesn’t explain it all. Course was like $9 to play (Including cart fees). The carts were 3 wheels and basically had to push start, and they broke down multiple times. the fairways were pathetic, basically like playing on someone’s lawn. The greens were only a little better. Going thru a hilarious adventure as an adult really cemented our friendship. A few years later Randy came to Texas to visit and we went to a classic Texas BBQ, Randy loved it so much he told me he would just pull up the website to remember the food. Randy and I talked on the phone a lot last year as we drove. He has raised amazing kids You will truely be missed

I had the pleasure of meeting Randy when my late husband, Terry, began a job at the WBA. He was always ready to share a smile, a joke or help with our sub,par tech skills. Becoming a dad meant so .such to him and he loved passing on news of his wife and kids. Kind souls don t come around often but Randy surely had that covered. Delores Burrington

I knew Randy as a coworker for the past few months. I'll remember how he made the people around him feel seen and welcomed. He took a genuine interest in people and was generous with his fun turns of phrase and anecdotes. Thinking of him and his family.

I worked with Randy at WBA/FIPCO and enjoyed each moment. He always had a kind word, funny anecdote, positive perspective and proud words of his children, friends and family. He was a good soul and will be dearly missed by all that he touched.
