Obituary
MADISON - José D. Rincón, age 66, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at UW Hospital and Clinics. He was born on March 6, 1959, in Irapuato, Guanajuato, the son of José Rincón and Maria Transito Olmos.
José was a proud American, having emigrated here as a young man many years ago. He was proud to have served at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in the Environmental Services Department for 36 years. He only stepped down from his role in April after illness prevented him from working.
José met and married Cynthia in 1981 and had a beautiful family. Unfortunately, she passed away in 2008. He was blessed to find love a second time and married Margarita “Maggie” Villanueva Castañeda on November 17, 2012, in Irapuato, Mexico, and they made their home in Madison.
He was a huge fan of the Green Bay Packers and had informal as well as formal Packers attire depending on the occasion. He loved gardening, grilling (was "The Grill Master") and loved making meals for his family. José was the proudest grandfather there ever was.
José is survived by his wife, Maggie; daughter, Maria Rincón Dominguez; son, Aaron Rincón; grandson, Matthew Rincón Dominguez; his brother, Jorge and his family as well as many family members in Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents, José and Maria; first wife, Cynthia Rincón; and son-in-law, Matthew Dominguez.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at OUR LADY OF GUADELUPE PARISH AT ST. JOSEPH'S CHURCH, 1905 W. Beltline Highway, Madison, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2025, with Father Jose Luis Vazquez presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Saturday.
