Obituary

MOUNT HOREB - Grayson Fredrick LaRosh, age 7, of Mount Horeb, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at home surrounded by love. He was born on September 15, 2017, in Madison, Wis., the son of Alyssa Kopczynskie and Derek LaRosh. Despite his disabilities, he faced life with extraordinary strength, joy, and a spirit that inspired everyone who knew him.

Grayson had the most contagious laugh and smile that could brighten up any room. He had an absolute obsession for cartoons, Mickey Mouse and Spidey being his favorites. He had a deep love for music and shared such an amazing bond with his music therapist, Sarah, at Every Voice Music Service.

He had a special love for bubbles that always brought out his biggest smile.  Grayson loved to swim, finding peace and happiness in the water, where his spirit seemed to soar. He enjoyed playing baseball through the Miracle League of Dane County. He never missed a chance to share a fist bump, a simple gesture that became his signature way of spreading love and connection.

Grayson is survived by his parents, Alyssa and Shaun Severson and Derek LaRosh; his sisters, Lily, Maci, and Oaklynn; his brother, Kole; grandparents, Larry and Jenny LaRosh, Russ and Alexis Baker and Paul and Melody Severson; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Shari and Jeff Kopczynskie.

Grayson’s family is extremely thankful for the doctors, nurses, and staff at UW Children’s Hospital and would like to give a special thanks to the Palliative Care Team. In addition, the family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to his nurse, Brittany, and social worker, Jessica, with Agrace HospiceCare.

His life was a gift, and he will forever be remembered for his strength, his light, and that beautiful smile.

The family will honor Grayson’s memory privately. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
